Tishawna McGowan Joins DGS as Senior Coordinator of Emergency Operations, Security, and Safety
Please welcome Tishawna McGowan, who has joined DGS as our Senior Coordinator of Emergency Operations, Security, and Safety in the Administration Division. In this role, Tishawna will coordinate major functions in operations and programming for security, safety, and emergency operations, including but not limited to emergency operation plans, continuity of operations plans, and emergency response processes. Tishawna will work to define DGS safety protocols, as well as to further streamline and improve all agency security operations.
Tishawna comes to DGS from the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management, where she was the Senior Emergency Communications Planner. Prior to that, Tishawna served as the Continuity Planner for the Baltimore County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Prior to that, Tishawna worked for several corporations as an independent Social Media Coordinator for six years. Before that, Tishawna worked as a Government Support Representative for AT&T, where she managed programs exclusively for Federal Government clients.
In 2007, Tishawna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Health Services Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Since then, she has earned numerous certifications in Emergency Management, Continuity Planning, Special Events, and Disaster Response. In her free time, Tishawna enjoys spending time with her two daughters, ages 8 and 12. Tishawna is an avid fan of the Chicago Med, Fire, and P.D. television series, and she likes to listen to R&B and Gospel music.
